Pettigrew's Pawnshop and attaching goods

This ruling used to exist on the AEG forums, so figured I’d ask here so we have an official reference.

Pettigrew’s Pawnshop:
After a player plays a non-Gadget goods, this deed’s controller gains 1 ghost rock.

Do you gain 1 GR for bringing cards into play via General Store, Doomsday Supply, or other affects that “attach” a goods to a dude/home or otherwise bring it into play outside of Shoppin’?

Yes.

Attaching an attachment (not trading) and playing an attachment are the same thing in Doomtown, so a when something let’s you attach, you can trigger any benefits for “playing” or “attaching” that card.
