Ahem, sorry.
In an effort to get back on topic, I’ll add that delaying playing extra dudes can be helpful against slide if you’ve got a high upkeep, low cost dude like Bobo, Steven Wiles or one of the new transients. It increases the chance they’ll boot and dude somewhere and gives you a chance to kill someone. Otherwise you need to weigh up: is it worth the expense of playing the dude (deny opponent income from a deed, cycle more cards), or should you keep the dude in hand (to prevent yourself losing next turn) or even discard him (rarely a sensible option, but maybe worthwhile if you’re hunting for a dude that will stick around. I’d still suggest discarding a shootout action or similar - you’re unlikely to need the help against deedslide).
