If a dude is aced from a players hand, discard pile, or deck, will that fulfill the trait requirement to be played after a dude is aced? Or is it only when a dude is aced from play?

Will my dudes aced from deck, discard pile, or hand cause the card to be discarded?

Hello.

The initial response is yes, dude cards aced from any location, hand, deck or discard pile will both allow A Hero’s Passing to be played, and also to be discarded, as there’s no reference to ‘in-play’ or ‘from play’.

So you could That’ll Hurt in the Morning to ace a dude from an opponent’s lowball hand in the hopes of playing A Hero’s Passing, and they could prevent the acing using Dr. Emanuel Ashbel.
