Does Powell get a control point when arriving via Stagecoach?

“Whenever Doris moves to an in-town deed without booting, she gains a control point, to a maximum of 3.”

“Controller React, Boot: When you bring a non-token dude into play, place that dude at any location you control.”

…

In short, when is “when” and does “place” mean move?

(I assume “when” doesn’t mean “after” and “place” means “put into play” but wanted to make sure…)

Good question!

Place does not mean move. “When” means at the instant in which that dude is entering play, instead of being placed in your home (as per normal dude-recruiting goes), that dude is placed at any location you control.

So, Doris does not get a control point if you use the Stage Coach office as she’s coming into play.
