Has/Worth Control Points, Part 2

Inspired by this post, I just want to clarify how this works.

The fact that the order of operations matters (IE: take Cooke’s then trigger Ike’s being different than vica versa) makes it sound like the trait is being “triggered” upon entering Ike’s, whereas I thought Doomtown traits were basically always-on. Is it that it’s always-on but is triggering a “set CP” effect whenever an opponent takes Cooke’s?

Further to that, based on the effect priorities listed in the the thread, it seems to me like Ike’s should always Trump Cooke’s?

To help me understand, a follow-up question; given this flow:

  • Opponent takes control of Cooke’s
  • Ike’s triggered against Cooke’s
  • Opponent loses control of Cooke’s
  • Opponent takes control of Cooke’s

What is Cooke’s CP at this point? If the intention is still 0, I’m a little perplexed how it ever could’ve been 2 in the Ike’s into Cooke’s case.

I think if Cooke’s is 2 at this point, I understand.

You’d need to change the game state (ie control of Cooke’s) to refresh it’s trait. This is done by leaving the Deed (as control can only be owner or not-owner) and then take it again. Then it’ll set itself to 2. Otherwise, Ike’s will be in effect, setting it at 0.
