On discord there was an unresolved disagreement. Post Maggie Harris and "Attaching" as part of an Ability or Trait - #3 by motosenn , was cited, but there was still some debate on the ruling.

Maggie Harris
Noon Job, Boot: Mark your home. If successful, search your discard pile for a Horse and attach it to any one of your dudes, reducing its cost by 1.

Maggie Harris job succeeds, searches, and finds a gadget horse. Can that horse be attached to a dude that is not a mad scientist (since it can be attached to any dude)?
-If Yes- Who invents the gadget horse, A mad scientist at any location, or at same location?
-If No- What happens to the gadget horse, or is it able to be pulled from the discard at all?

Seen and Under review. RT will also be answering if the General Store can allow a gadget to be played on anyone, not just your inventing mad scientist.

From Rules Team:

Attachment via card effect can be to anyone (so General Store can stick a goods onto any dude, anywhere, even if they’re booted, including gadgets). This applies to Maggie job.

You still need to invent a gadget, but any mad scientist could do so, at any location.
