Moving Forward and Maza Gang Hideout

Moving Forward:
Cheatin’ Resolution: Search your deck and discard pile for an in-town deed and play it, reducing its cost by 5. If this card is played during lowball, pay ghost rock equal to the deed’s production or discard it.

Maza Gang Hideout:
This deed is not adjacent to the town square.

This deed has +1 production for each adjacent location.

0 printed production.

The Place
Increase the production of the leftmost deed in each other street by 2.

If I play Moving Forward during lowball, does it look for printed production, or effective production? If the latter, if my opponent has The Place, and Maza would be my leftmost deed, would that also factor in to how much I’d need to pay?

Great question!

Let’s look at Moving Forward sequentially.

“Cheatin’ Resolution: Search your deck and discard pile for an in-town deed and play it, reducing its cost by 5.”

The Maza Gang Hideout gets placed.

“If this card is played during lowball, pay ghost rock equal to the deed’s production or discard it.”

Now that the Maza Gang Hideout is placed, Moving Forward checks for the deed’s current production. You must pay ghost rock equal to the deed’s production or discard it.
