Agent Provocateur and Undertaker

I’ve found a situation I’m unsure of how to resolve, hope you can clear it up for me:

@Agent Provocateur

React: After victory is checked during Sundown, ace Agent Provocateur to play a dude from your hand, reducing their cost by 4. This acing effect cannot be prevented.

@Undertaker

This deed’s controller gains 2 ghost rock each time an in-play dude is aced.

Can the money from Undertaker be used to help pay for the new dude?

React Priorities
When any event occurs ( such as revealing a cheatin’ hand), each player, starting with the winner, has the opportunity to use applicable traits or Reacts in response to that event.

In this context, is Agent Provocateur’s trait one event (the whole sentence at once), or is it several (first the acing, then playing a dude)?

The inclusion of the terms “after” and “when” in a trait or React have specific meaning that should be adhered to. “After” the event means that the event has completed ( such as discarding a dude). The window for “when” an event occurs happens before the window for “after,” and means that the event is in the process of being executed.

Undertaker doesn’t say “after” or “when”, but since it says is aced rather than has been aced, I would assume it counts as “when”.

If Undertaker does count as “when”, then I guess the GR could be used straight away? If Undertaker happens after the acing, then it would depend on whether the acing is a seperate event, with an opportunity for UTs trait to trigger, or whether the whole effect is one event.

Yep, When you Ace Agent Provocateur that earns you 2 GR. Since the acing happens before you play the dude from you hand, you’ll have the newly earned 2 GR to pay for that dude.
