Can a Wretched take a Stagecoach?

Can the Stagecoach Office React “interrupt” The Wretched’s two traits, side-stepping the consequence (not cost) of needing to ace a dude you control? (Storywise, the “spare parts” would be “donated” from an unsuspecting passenger on the coach en route…)

Controller React, Boot: When you bring a non-token dude into play, place that dude at any location you control.

The Wretched
The Wretched must be invented by a Mad Scientist. It enters play at the Mad Scientist’s location (but does not attach).
After The Wretched enters play, ace a dude you own and control in the same location. The inventing Mad Scientist gains 2 bounty (if still in play).

Wouldn’t The Wretched just ace itself, since it is a dude you both own and control in the same location as itself?

Correct, you can use the stage coach office to relocate the Wretched. But you still must satisfy the acing part on the wretched. Itself is always a legal target.
