If I pull a joker for a technique can I use the Drunken Master’s home ability (provided an ace value succeeds by 5 or more) and take the joker into my hand rather than acing it?

Simple answer is yes, if you pull a Joker and succeed by 5 or more once you have declared its value, you can use the outfit to put it in your hand.
The drawn out answer is that you are keeping it from reaching the “ace after use” part of its game text. You got what you needed out of it, then stopped it from making it to boot hill.
