Interaction between Prof. Aloysius Roe and Showboating

Is it possible to pull Showboating for a skill check, use the professor and then use the Showboating you just pulled?

Here we have an odd answer which I will do in two parts.

If as asked showboating is pulled for a skill check you could not use Prof Roe as showboating says immediately , which doesn’t allow for the react from the Professor.

If however Showboating is played from hand you will already have had the opportunity to use Prof Roe and therefore it will work.
