Had a wonderful day playing in the latest tournament at IQ games centre in Huddersfield on Saturday, we had 14 players who ran a nice spread of outfits. I will not be putting up a full tournament report as Andy the tournament winner has offered to write one and Paul from the mob justice blog has one up already… I would however like to say it was really well run (thank you Heidi) the sportsmanship award was very gratefully received by Karl.
What could have been intimidating for anyone new to the scene with 4 deputies being present was in fact just really welcoming.
Landslide player wins sportsmanship… There’s something wrong with that
D and d dear Dan, its only landslide when Andy plays it, and then he gets ribbed for it.
I’m hurt, Karl also might have used my deck btw
See Dan Slide is loved by all!
TBH I voted for Karl cause he was simply such a nice guy when I played him, I didn’t know it was my actual deck until afterwards otherwise I’d have voted for him twice
I’ll be honest, coming along to the event was one of the better decisions to make. The last time I’d been to IQ Games Mr Wisely stepped through the game (twice), schooling me in the correct etiquette of play… very useful stuff!
At the Deputy Event at IQ Games I got to see a couple of faces I’d seen previously.
Everyone was friendly and people took time out of their day (gaming) to offer support to a real newbie at DT:R
I was extremely pleased to get into the top half of the winning positioning - more so to find that I had reached a rewarded position - fabulous!
To also then get the sportsmanship award - icing on the cake!
I think I may need to look at improving when and where to get into a shootout! Andy - I promise it won’t be with a (or more specifically your) D&D / Landslide Deck
