What happens when I move Ol’ Howard with Gateway? This is a bit different than the Idol of Tlazolteotl question as the Idol specifies it attaches Howard elsewhere.

Gateway: Noon Hex 6, Boot: Move your Abomination at this location to another location.

Ol’ Howard: Abomination • Grifter

A deed with this card attached has 0 production and 0 control points, which cannot be modified.

React: At the start of the game, search your deck for a deed and play it, paying all costs. Ol’ Howard attaches to that deed, and permanently becomes a Condition and not a dude.

As Rules Team analyzes cards for templating, there are at times inevitably where things aren’t caught. For that the Pine Box team truly apologizes for this miss in interaction in not addressing the Ol Howard situation.

Gateway will be reworded as ‘Abomination Dude’ for further clarity.

There are still some fun tricks to pull off with Ol Howard, like the Idol, running Abram’s job and All Or Nothing, but he will not be a legal target for Gateway while not a Dude.
