Tse-che-nako's Weaving and Kabeda Hakurei Interaction

Hey guys, I was wondering how Kabeda Hakurei interacts with Tse-che-nako’s Weaving in terms of the phrase “You may unboot this deed…” Which deed is being referenced in this, the location of Kabeda Hakurei, or the location of Tse-che-nako’s Weaving? If it’s the location of Kabeda Hakurei, can I use this interaction to unboot deeds besides the one with Tse-che-nako’s Weaving on it? If it’s the location of the Tse-che-nako’s Weaving, can Kabeda Hakurei use her ability to gain the full card effect of Tse-che-nako’s Weaving while at home?

Great question! We’ll break it down:

Weaving-
This deed gains the Holy Ground keyword and does not unboot during Sundown.
Noon Spirit 7, Boot: Move one of your dudes to a location adjacent to this Shaman. You may unboot this deed to give this Shaman 1 control point until they move.

Kabeda-
Once per turn, Kabeda can use a Noon ability on an unbooted Totem in an adjacent location.

Rules Compendium-
➢ Whenever a Totem’s ability refers to “this location,” it is referring to Kabeda’s location.

  • The deed referenced is her location. If there is no deed at that location (home, town square), that second sentence on Weaving does not occur.

Kabeda will be slated for a rewording to this effect:

“Once per turn, Kabeda can use a Noon ability on an unbooted Totem in an adjacent location as if it were at her location.”

The compendium entry was made to be consistent with the AEG era ruling.
