Wendy and Lucy travel to Tombstone and other items!

Looks like two of our favourite Law Enforcing Ladies will be making an appearance in future fiction!
From the recent Kickstarter update:

Participants in the Epitaph Series Events represented the Law Dogs more than any other faction. As such, new tales will feature Wendy and Lucy as they travel to the “Town too Tough to Die,” as it was known. In addition, we’re going to advance the Doomtown: Reloaded storyline TWO years to October of 1881!

Really awesome story idea coming up - at each Servitor event, players can vote on which character from Gomorra they want to see corrupted by evil.

Here are the choices:

Law Dogs: Drew Beauman
Morgan Cattle Company: Kyle Wagner (Harrowed ???)
Fourth Ring: Valeria Batten
The Sloane Gang: Maria Kingsford
108: Bai Yang Chen
Eagle Wardens: Black Elk

Clearly everyone should vote for Kyle, but all of those characters would be super interesting if they were corrupted by a Servitor.

Also, we get some awesome new promo cards! Full alt-art Mugging, full alt-art Henry, and a new Inner Struggle! Is that Mario Crane?
Does anyone know if these alt-arts for Henry and Mugging included as the errata cards in the stretch goals? Or are these different?

Speaking of Mario, the winner of the tourney at PAX gets to determine if Mario regains his sanity from the manitou, or becomes a minor servitor himself! 2nd place gets to help determine what happened with Jessica Prachett.

There’s also an interesting way planned to help determine the course of the story:

Each round of the event, a random table will help choose a card featured in the conflict. The players will discuss their card choice, and the winner of the round will report the decision. Thus these players will help determine the story’s direction. On the final round of Swiss for our event, this will automatically go to the final table.

Sounds awesome! Do we know when we might be getting more fiction for the story?

There’s lots to like here from Pinebox. :slight_smile:

  • I like that the story impact is participation based for both the Servitor Series and at Pax (with the latter offering also offering cool choices for first and 2nd as they decide the fates of Mario Crane and the former “Sloane”,Jessica Pratchett). Gives everyone a reason to take part and makes this about the broad community rather than competition.
  • Good to see Pinebox encouraging various formats for the Servitor events: giving out promos during a day of casual play, leagues or a tournament day.
  • Sloane finally get a playmat!
  • More fiction coming (not sure on timing, we may well get some in the expansion itself?).
  • Signs of familiar characters working with new characters we’ll see in Tombstone are welcome in the snippet with Lucy and Wendy discussing the Earps (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/545820095/doomtown-reloaded-there-comes-a-reckoning/posts/1985249).

Ah, so that’s who they were talking about. I guess one of them is nicknamed the lunger?

“Lunger” is almost certainly Doc Holliday, who died of tuberculosis (often referred to as “consumption” during the period). He’s even referred to as a “lunger” at points in the Tombstone film.

Good stuff. I hope the greater-involvement in the Deadlands lore will attract more peeps willing to make their mark in it! :slight_smile:

the fiction that accompanies TCaR rules insert places a beloved Doomtown: Reloaded character in the new storyline and includes Servitor and Deadlands interactions/appearances.

The Servitor series and PAX events are also designed to inform the DT:R storyline and attendant fiction.

Oh man! It sounds like exactly one of the six characters will be corrupted? (Maybe two if there’s a tie?) I feel like it should definitely be Valeria or Bai Yang — though I’d be darn sad if it were Valeria.

“Lunger” is actually slang for someone with tuberculosis (because TB primarily affects the lungs … get it?). :stuck_out_tongue:
