"worst BLANK in the game"

This isn’t the exact deck I played the last couple of weeks because I just tinkered with it this morning, but the general premise and draw structure is the same: Deckbuilder · DoomtownDB

The first thing that comes to mind is: why no Consecrate? Would save you a couple slots at 8♣ for BH.

I was running BH in it previously and honestly didn’t care for them that much anymore. There are a lot of counters to a lone, low-value stud. Also, I’m generally concerned with packing too many Miracles considering Inbody is the lone Blessed in the deck. He bites it and I don’t want every hand to have a dead card in it.

Ok, if the stars align Elmore can be somehow useful.

Not anymore. Dude’s dead. Poor guy. He’ll never be experienced.

With Inbody being the only blessed in the deck, how are you making use of the multiple Confessions (or are you running three to make sure you draw one)?

He can use the others to generate GR from the bounties out there.

This. I usually have some stray bounties on my own dudes from Protection Agency or slingin’ lead at Private locations.

This isn’t too far off the front page so:

What’s the deal with Soothe? The only situation I can imagine is allowing one of your powerful dudes to continue moving around after he’s been sent home booted (or refused a callout).

I guess you’re trading a 0-influence blessed to unboot a dude with influence. If all your dudes with influence are booted, you’re stuck for the rest of that Noon phase pretty much.

I’ve found Soothe to be quite useful sometimes. Not a card you base your deck plan on but you are ble to play a little bit more risky having one ready.

It’s a pretty bad spell, but it has its uses. Generally use it to “trade” your Blessed for someone that’s more useful at the moment.

For the most part though I see it as a filler card for the value slot to get other cards you might want like General Store, Pharmacy, TYWM, NTB, INWYK, Abram XP, Ebenezer, Pasteur or Max Baine.

They can’t all be Blood Curse and Paralysis Mark.

The problem is it having a difficulty of 10, that really restricts your deckbuilding even if you just want to run it as a filler.

I completely agree. If it was like say…Difficulty 6 it would be a different discussion.

Or difficulty = value.

Yeah, it seems to me the best use is supporting your big dudes like Clyde who might be running around trying to start a fight, then getting sent home booted. Rev Perry can use his ability to unboot a dude, then use Soothe to unboot a dude.

I wish there were more variable difficulty spells in the game, personally. Not everything should be, but I’d prefer more than we have now.

Though variable difficulty Miracles are less dynamic than Hexes because you’re typically targeting your own dudes rather than opposing ones, so you have much stricter control on that.

Think about it, Sword of the Spirit doesn’t protect from a single Miracle or Spirit…

Oh no, wait, there is one! Confession!

How could you forget, it’s the best miracle?!
